The depth of the burn will depend on the condition of your skin and the desired results. While the procedure is always done on an outpatient basis, a general anesthesia may be recommended if the burn will be deep. Recovery typically takes five to seven days for a superficial treatment and six to eight weeks following deep resurfacing. During this period, it will be important that you avoid exposing the treated area to the sun so your treatment should be planned accordingly.
